Stakeholder Engagement

Active listening #

A communication technique that involves fully concentrating, understanding, responding and then memorizing the conversation. In stakeholder engagement, active listening helps build trust and ensure that all parties have a clear understanding of the issues at hand.

Change agent #

An individual or group that drives and facilitates the implementation of changes within an organization. Change agents in stakeholder engagement are responsible for leading and supporting the change management process and ensuring that all stakeholders are involved and informed.

Change management #

A structured approach to transitioning individuals, teams, and organizations from a current state to a desired future state. Change management involves a range of activities, including planning, communication, training, and support, to ensure that changes are implemented smoothly and successfully.

Communication plan #

A detailed document that outlines how information will be communicated to stakeholders during the change management process. A communication plan typically includes information about the target audience, key messages, communication channels, and frequency of communication.

Conflict resolution #

The process of identifying and addressing disagreements or conflicts between stakeholders. Conflict resolution in stakeholder engagement involves understanding the underlying issues, finding common ground, and developing solutions that meet the needs of all parties.

Empathy #

The ability to understand and share the feelings of another person. In stakeholder engagement, empathy helps build trust and rapport with stakeholders, and helps individuals understand the impact of changes on others.

A framework that outlines how stakeholders will be involved in the change management process. An engagement model typically includes information about the level of involvement, communication channels, and decision-making authority of stakeholders.

Influence #

The ability to affect the behavior or opinions of others. In stakeholder engagement, influence is used to build support for changes and ensure that stakeholders are motivated to participate in the change management process.

Interest #

based negotiation: A negotiation strategy that focuses on identifying and addressing the underlying interests of all parties. Interest-based negotiation is used in stakeholder engagement to find solutions that meet the needs of all stakeholders and build long-term relationships.

Key stakeholders #

Individuals, groups, or organizations that have a significant impact on, or are significantly impacted by, the change management process. Key stakeholders in stakeholder engagement include employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, and the broader community.

Power dynamics #

The distribution of power and influence among stakeholders. Power dynamics in stakeholder engagement can impact the success of the change management process, and must be carefully managed to ensure that all stakeholders have an equal voice.

Resistance #

The opposition or reluctance of stakeholders to participate in or support the change management process. Resistance in stakeholder engagement can take many forms, including passive resistance, active resistance, and sabotage.

Risk management #

The process of identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with the change management process. Risk management in stakeholder engagement involves understanding the potential impacts of changes on stakeholders, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks.

Stakeholder analysis #

The process of identifying and evaluating the interests, influence, and impact of stakeholders. Stakeholder analysis in stakeholder engagement is used to understand the perspectives and needs of stakeholders, and to develop engagement strategies that meet their needs.

Trust #
